Psychological Evaluations

Our ADHD evaluations look beyond a simple checklist. We assess attention, executive functioning, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and how these show up across settings (home, school, and social situations). Testing typically includes standardized rating scales completed by parents and teachers, direct cognitive and attention measures, and a clinical interview to understand your child's history and daily challenges. You'll receive a clear diagnosis (when appropriate), an explanation of how ADHD is affecting learning and behavior, and specific recommendations for school accommodations, home strategies, and  504/IEP guidance (if appropriate).

  Autism evaluations assess social communication, restricted or repetitive behaviors, sensory processing differences, and overall developmental history. We use the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), the gold-standard direct-observation tool for diagnosing ASD, alongside parent interviews, developmental history review, and cognitive testing to build a complete picture. Because autism can present very differently from child to child,  this evaluation is designed to disentangle what's really going on. You'll come away with a diagnostic clarity, an understanding of your child's specific profile of strengths and needs, and recommendations for therapies, school supports, and real-world resources.

 Dyslexia evaluations focus specifically on reading and phonological processing (the ability to hear and manipulate sounds in words), decoding, fluency, and reading comprehension . Along with related writing and spelling difficulties. Testing pinpoints exactly where the breakdown is happening in the reading process, which is essential for choosing the right intervention. You'll receive a clear diagnosis, an explanation of your child's specific reading profile, and recommendations for evidence-based reading instruction and school accommodations. 

 Learning disability evaluations identify specific difficulties in reading, writing, math, processing speed, and working memory. We look at the skills that underlie academic performance. Testing includes cognitive ability measures alongside academic achievement testing, so we can see not just that a child is struggling, but why: whether it's a reading-specific disorder like dyslexia, a math disability like dyscalculia, a writing disorder, or a broader processing difference. This distinction matters because it determines what kind of intervention will actually help. You'll receive a diagnosis where applicable, and a roadmap for the specific accommodations, IEP/504 goals, or tutoring approaches suited to your child's learning profile. 

 This evaluation looks at emotional regulation, anxiety, mood, and social-emotional functioning. Such as how your child is coping internally and how that's affecting their behavior, learning, and relationships. We use standardized emotional/behavioral rating scales completed by parents and teachers, self-report measures when age-appropriate, and a clinical interview to understand triggers, history, and current functioning. This is often paired with academic or cognitive testing when emotional struggles are affecting school performance, since anxiety and attention/learning difficulties can look similar or compound each other. You'll receive clarity on what's driving your child's emotional struggles and recommendations for therapy, school-based supports, and home strategies. 

 Gifted evaluations assess cognitive ability to determine eligibility for gifted programming, advanced coursework, or enrichment services. We look at overall intellectual functioning as well as specific strengths such as verbal reasoning, nonverbal/spatial reasoning, working memory, and processing speed. Giftedness doesn't always look the same in every child., and can sometimes coexist with a learning difference ("twice-exceptional" ). Results include eligibility documentation for your school district's gifted program, along with insight into how to support your child's specific cognitive strengths at home and in the classroom.
